Keri Magaoay - 8
Heather Bernal - 8
Rhona Slingerland - 9
Joy Paet - 9
Frances Ammon - 9
De Dotson - 8 1/2
Tami Sorensen - 9
Sheri McEntire - 8 1/2
(Moana Piena - 9 review by email)

The Poetry Moment was given by Heather Bernal. She chose Shel Silverstein. Heather gave us an amazing reading from a few of his poems.

Deception Point is our 2nd Dan Brown book, officially. Though, many of us read The Da Vinci Code shortly after Angels and Demons the previous summer.
This was a really fun evening. We had some in depth discussion about Deception Point. I, for one, was truly amazed how Dan Brown can instruct the reader without the reader realizing they are receiving a lesson in higher learning.

??? more, but I that's all I remember.

The Poetry Moment spotlight was Oscar Wilde. The suggestion from his work that was read that evening was to compliment others more. It must have been moving because it was the only thing I wrote down. We must have had so much fun I was too distracted to do anything else! =)

Also, I was wondering where I might get the opportunity to mention Frances Ammon. She was a wonderful, unique and special member of our book club. Sacred Clowns was her book pick for us to read. I'm so grateful to Sarah and others who introduced her to the book club. She is missed.

Next Book: Skipping Christmas by John Grisham

Dragonflight 8/17/04 *Sheri McEntire's Baby Shower*

At Kelly Paller's house.

There was a huge attendance!! I need a picture! Someone has a picture!

We actually had a Surprise Baby Shower for Sheri McEntire this evening. Complete with the guest of honor Kamaile in attendance. The McEntire's were able to legally adopt Kamaile over Christmas of 2006. Then in February 2007 Kamaile McEntire was sealed to them in the Seattle Temple.

This was making out to be exciting summer! After just reading Tell No One by Harlan Coben last month and then to dive into Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, my heart was going a mile a minute! Angels and Demons was terrific! WE were all impressed! I will put in a disclaimer that some were put off by the violence. However, it was exciting to find a book we all enjoyed so much. AND most of us moved right on to The Da Vinci Code this summer, even though it was never 'technically' a book club pick of the month.

This book club was also a farewell to Jennifer Croft who along with her family moved back to Canada.

There's a movie version coming out in 12/19/2008 5/15/2009! Whooohooo!
